WordPress backup monitoring: know your last backup worked.
Relvato checks every day that your WordPress backup plugin actually completed a recent backup, so there is something to restore after a hack or a bad update.
- ✓The newest completed backup is within your limit (7 days by default)
- ✓The last backup attempt didn't fail, and no run started and never finished
- ✓Backups run on a schedule, not only when someone remembers
- ✓Backups are stored somewhere other than the site's own server
- ✓Works with UpdraftPlus, BackWPup, Duplicator, All-in-One WP Migration, WPvivid, Backup Migration and Total Upkeep
- ✓BlogVault and Jetpack Backup are recognised; their status lives on their own dashboards
Most people find out their backups stopped the day they need one. A storage token expires, a run times out, the disk fills, or the schedule was never set, and the plugin keeps showing the last good date in a screen nobody opens. A backup you never checked is a backup you might not have.
- The plugin reads what your backup plugin records about its own runs: when the last backup completed, and whether the last attempt failed or never finished.
- It works with UpdraftPlus, BackWPup, Duplicator, All-in-One WP Migration, WPvivid, Backup Migration and Total Upkeep. Relvato never starts a backup itself.
- Every day Relvato checks the newest backup against your limit (7 days unless you change it), and whether backups are scheduled and leave the server.
Does Relvato make backups?
No. It reads what your backup plugin records about its own runs and tells you when something is off. It never starts, changes or downloads a backup.
Does it need the plugin?
Yes. Backup records live inside WordPress, so the Relvato plugin (1.38.0 or later) reads them. It only reads dates and outcomes, never your storage credentials.
My host backs up the site. Will Relvato complain?
If no backup plugin is active, Relvato shows one warning that says so. If your host backs the site up, ignore it and it stays quiet.
