Remove the real-user monitoring beacon
Real-user Web Vitals works through a small script on your pages — the beacon. Turning the monitor off, or deleting it, stops Relvato from storing what the beacon sends, but the beacon stays on your site until you take it off. Until then, Relvato shows a reminder on the site's page.
What happens if you leave it
Nothing breaks. The beacon is cookieless and sends a few anonymous timings from a share of page views; while real-user monitoring is off, Relvato throws them away.
Still, a script that does nothing for you is one more request on every page, and your privacy notice may mention it. Take it off.
WordPress sites (the Relvato plugin)
The plugin adds the beacon for you, so it takes it off for you too.
In your WordPress admin, open Relvato → Settings, untick “Collect anonymous page-speed metrics from real visitors” under “Real-user Web Vitals”, and click “Save Changes”.
The beacon is gone from the next page load. If your pages are cached (a caching plugin, your host, Cloudflare), purge the cache so visitors get pages without it. Deactivating the Relvato plugin removes it too — along with everything else the plugin does.
Any other site (the snippet you added)
On other sites you added the beacon yourself, as one of two snippets: a short loader — a script tag whose address ends in /api/vitals/beacon.js — or a longer inline script that mentions /api/vitals.
Remove it from wherever you put it: your site's head template or layout, your site builder's custom-code setting (the header code in Webflow, Wix, Squarespace or Shopify's theme.liquid), or a tag in Google Tag Manager. Searching your code or container for api/vitals finds it.
Publish or redeploy, then purge any cache or CDN.
Check that it's gone
Open a page of your site, view its source and search for api/vitals: nothing should be found.
The reminder on the site's page in Relvato goes away once Relvato hasn't heard from the beacon for a week.
FAQ
Does turning the monitor off delete the readings Relvato already has?
No. Readings collected while the monitor was on stay, and turning it back on continues from them. Deleting the site deletes them.
I removed it, but Relvato still says it's there.
A cached page still carries it: purge your caching plugin, your host's cache or your CDN. The reminder clears a week after the last reading.
I only turned the monitor off for a while.
Then leave the beacon on. Turn Real-user Web Vitals back on from the site's Performance page, and readings are stored again from the next page view.
