Redirect monitoring — one address, one permanent redirect.

People and search engines reach your site four ways: http or https, with or without www. Relvato follows each of them to the end, every day, and makes sure they all land on one address in a single permanent redirect — no loops, no chains, no second copy of the site.

What it checks
  • ✓No redirect loops or endless chains (Search Console's "Redirect error")
  • ✓Every address ends on the same one — no site split across hosts
  • ✓One redirect to the address, and a permanent one (301 or 308)
  • ✓http always moves to https instead of serving the page
  • ✓Deep links keep their path and query; the canonical tag agrees
  • ✓www and the bare domain both exist, with a valid certificate
Why it matters

Redirects break where nobody looks: a CDN or hosting setting, a DNS change, an SEO or redirect plugin update. A loop is what Google Search Console reports as "Redirect error"; a temporary 302 on a permanent move keeps ranking from passing on; two hosts that both serve the site split it in two. Some platforms even add a hop of their own — Vercel always upgrades http to https before your redirect runs.

How it works
  • Requests all four addresses — http and https, with and without www — and follows every redirect itself, recording each hop and its status code.
  • Sends a deep link with a query string through an address that redirects, to see the page and its query survive the move.
  • Asks DNS whether www and the bare domain exist, reads the homepage's canonical tag, and runs every day and after plugin or core updates.
Questions, answered
Do I need a plugin?

No. Redirect monitoring works on any site: it makes a few ordinary requests to your addresses, and never follows a redirect off your site.

Are two redirects really a problem?

Nothing breaks — browsers and Google follow them — so it's a warning, not a failure. But one is enough, and Relvato says how to get there on your platform: on Vercel, for example, by redirecting at a CDN in front of it.

Why does Search Console show "Redirect error"?

Usually a loop, or a chain too long to finish, at the moment Google crawled. Relvato follows the same addresses every day, so you see the chain that caused it — and when it's fixed.
