Cookie consent checker

Cookie consent checker: what loads before a visitor says yes?

Enter any page. This free cookie consent checker visits it like a first-time visitor from Europe — a fresh browser, no cookies, nothing clicked — and records every request to advertising and analytics services before any choice. It finds your consent banner, then clicks Reject in a second fresh visit and records again. It never clicks Accept.

Free, no account. One page per scan. Results are kept for 24 hours and shared for the same address; up to 5 scans every 10 minutes and 20 a day.

What it checks

What a first-time visitor's browser receives

Trackers before any choice

Requests to Google Analytics and Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok, Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Ads, Hotjar, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X, Snapchat, Reddit, Criteo and Yandex, and the cookies they set, before the visitor has chosen anything. Each one is an issue.

The consent banner

Banners from Cookiebot, OneTrust, Complianz, CookieYes, Borlabs, Usercentrics, iubenda, Didomi, Real Cookie Banner, Osano, Termly, Quantcast, Klaro and others. Trackers on a page that shows no banner at all are an issue.

Reject on the first layer

Whether “Reject” or “Only necessary” is on the banner's first layer, next to “Accept”. When refusing takes an extra step, that's a warning.

What still loads after Reject

In a second fresh browser, the checker clicks Reject and records again. A tracker that loads anyway is an issue.

A banner Relvato didn't see

Some consent tools hide their banner from automated visitors. When a consent tool is on the page but showed no banner, you get a warning: people may see something different.

What it leaves out

Strictly necessary cookies (cart, session, login, the stored choice), analytics you host yourself, and Google Consent Mode's cookieless pings sent with ad and analytics storage both denied aren't flagged.

Honest limits

What one visit can't tell you

The checker sees one page, from Europe, once. A tag that fires only on product or checkout pages, or only for one campaign, won't show up here, and visitors outside Europe may get a different banner — or none.

It can't tell you whether your consent is valid. That also depends on what your banner says, how your choices are presented, your legal basis and what your vendors do with the data; a person, often a lawyer, has to review that. The checker tests the part a browser can observe: what loads before a choice and after Reject.

And the result is today's. A marketing plugin update can put a pixel back in your header, and a consent-tool update can rename the category your analytics waited for. Relvato's Cookie consent monitor makes the same two visits to your key pages after WordPress, theme, plugin and WooCommerce updates, and alerts you by email, Slack or webhook.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does a clean result mean my cookie consent is valid?

No — no automated test can tell you that. Valid consent also depends on your banner's wording, your vendors and your legal basis. Relvato tests what a browser can observe: what loads before a choice and what still loads after Reject. That's where large fines have landed, like the CNIL's €150 million fine on Shein in September 2025.

Why does it visit from Europe?

EU and UK rules are opt-in: non-essential cookies and trackers wait until the visitor agrees. Many consent tools show a different banner, or none, depending on where a visitor is. Relvato's browser runs in the EU, so it sees the banner an EU visitor gets.

Does it ever click Accept?

No. The first visit clicks nothing, and the second clicks Reject. Accepting would load the trackers on purpose and tell you nothing about what your banner holds back.

It says my consent tool showed no banner. Why?

Some consent tools don't show the banner to automated visitors, or only show it in some countries. Relvato found the tool on the page but saw no banner, so it couldn't click Reject. Open the page in a private window to see what a person gets.

Will it flag Google Consent Mode or my own analytics?

Not on their own. Google Consent Mode's cookieless pings, sent while ad and analytics storage are both denied, aren't flagged, and neither are cookies the site needs to work or analytics you host yourself. Whether your own analytics needs consent depends on the country and how it's set up.
