Google Chat website monitoring alerts
When a monitor finds a problem — a broken checkout, a failing login, a site that's down — Relvato posts it to the Google Chat space your team already uses. The error, what set it off and a link to the run, in one message.
Google Chat alerts are on every paid plan (Pro, Business and Agency) and need a Google Workspace account. The button takes you to Alert settings.

A webhook on the space is all Relvato needs. Nothing to install.
Add a webhook to the space
In Google Chat, open the space, then Apps & integrations → Webhooks → Add webhook. Give it a name, save, and copy its URL.
Paste it into Relvato
Open Alert settings. In “Teams, Discord, Telegram & other chat apps”, pick Google Chat, give it a name such as Site alerts, paste the URL and click Add.
Send a test
Click Send test and watch the message arrive. From then on, the problems your monitors find post to that space as they happen.
Webhooks are for Google Workspace accounts only. If your space has no Webhooks option, ask your Workspace admin. The URL starts with https://chat.googleapis.com/v1/spaces/.
It can post to one space. That's all.
A Google Chat webhook belongs to one space and can only post there. It gives no access to anything else in your Workspace.
What Relvato can do
- Post alerts to the space the webhook belongs to
- Include the site, the monitor, the error, its severity and what triggered the run, with a link to the run
- Stop at once when you switch it off or remove it in Alert settings, or delete the webhook in Google Chat
What it can't
- Read messages, in that space or any other
- See your spaces, members or their profiles
- Post to other spaces, or message people directly
- Show you the URL again — it's stored encrypted, and Alert settings shows only its name and host
Only the alerts worth an interruption
A switch per monitor type
Under What goes where, the Chat apps column has a switch for Uptime, User flows, Security, Design, Performance, SEO / AEO, Domain lifecycle and Legal compliance. Muted sites stay quiet.
Your severity threshold
Google Chat follows the same “Alert me on” level as email. Set it to critical and a broken checkout gets through, while a cosmetic warning doesn't.
It says when a monitor couldn't run
If a firewall blocked Relvato, the message reads “🚧 Checkout couldn't run on My Shop — Cloudflare blocked Relvato” instead of claiming a working checkout broke.
It tells you when Google Chat stops answering
After 20 failed deliveries in a row, Relvato pauses that chat app and says so in the notification bell. One click resumes it.
Google Chat alerts, answered
Which plans include Google Chat alerts?
Pro, Business and Agency. On Free, alerts show in the app and by email once a month, and every plan shows failures in the dashboard.
Does it work with a personal Gmail account?
No. Google Chat webhooks are for Google Workspace accounts only. On a personal account, use email, Slack, Discord or Microsoft Teams instead.
Can Relvato read my Google Chat messages?
No. A webhook can only post into its own space. Relvato can't read that space, its messages or its members.
What does Relvato post besides monitor failures?
Uptime going down and coming back up, heartbeats, port monitors and Quarantine mode. Every message carries the headline, the error, its severity, what triggered the run and a View run link. Screenshots stay in Relvato, behind that link.
Can I post to more than one space?
Yes. Add a webhook to each space and each URL in Alert settings — up to 10 chat apps per account, across Google Chat, Teams, Discord and Slack-compatible servers such as Mattermost. Each one has its own on/off switch.
How is the URL kept safe?
Anyone with the URL can post to your space, so Relvato treats it like a password: it's stored encrypted and never shown again. Relvato only posts to Google Chat's own host over https, checks the address is public before every send, and never follows a redirect.
